Aussortieren nach datum

Hallo,
Ich grade alle Daten aus einer Tabelle zu gruppieren. Der Sinn ist der
das ich anhand der Monate,.. die zugriffe zusammenrechne. Scheint aber
so nicht zu funktionieren

SELECT COUNT(*) as count,YEAR(ip_date) as year, MONTH(ip_date) as month,
DAY(ip_date) as day FROM zitat_stats WHERE YEAR(ip_date)= '2004' AND
MONTH(ip_date)= '1 ' GROUP BY DAY(ip_date)

ergibt aber eine Fehler 

You have an error in your SQL syntax near '(ip_date) as day FROM
zitat_stats WHERE YEAR(ip_date)= '2004' AND MONTH(ip_date)' at line 1


Was mache ich falsc ?
