[php] Mysql_connect

Hi Leute,

Ich versuche ne einfache Verbindung von einer PHP4.3.8 zu einer 5.0.12 mysql DB und bekomme beim aufruf von 

mysql_connect('localhost', '', '')

folgende Fehler :

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)


Was läuft hier schief ?
