[php] binary data php mysql

Hi,

for some time already I'm trying to find a way to let visitors of my homepage  insert binary data (image.files) into my Mysql database. 

I found the following solution (see beneath). Could you please take a look at this code and tell me if it is correct or how I should modify it.

Which fields do I have to insert into my database in order to take up the image files and what format should this fields have?
