Fuer Exim gibt es keinen Patch, aber (aus der "Exim Specification"):

File and database lookups

Exim can be configured to look up data in files or databases in a number
of different circumstances (see "Use of data lookups" below). Two
different styles of data lookup are implemented: 

-  The single-key style requires the specification of a file in which
   to look, and a single key to search for. The lookup type determines
   how the file is searched.
-  The query style accepts a generalized query, which may contain one
   or more keys.
