Problem mit logrotating

Hallo Leute!

Ich habe folgendes Problem mit meiner mysql 3.23.23 Installation auf
Linux Mandrake 7.2:

Ich erhalte von meinem crond folgende Fehlermeldung:

errors occured while rotating /var/lib/mysql/mysqld.log

/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user: 'root_(at)_localhost' (Using password: NO)'
error runnung postrotate script

Ein korrektes .my.cnf in /root/ existiert, da ich als root mysqladmin 
problemlos ohne Passwortangabe benutzen kann.

Und die Cronjobs laufen doch als root.

Ich bin für jede Hilfe dankbar.
