Noch ein kleiner Hinweis:

das &$db ist seit einiger Zeit deprecated ist. Normalerweise sollte es in der
Funktionsdeklaration festgelegt werden, ob ein Wert "by reference" übergeben
wird, und nicht im Funktionsaufruf!
