[php] vor & zurück in einem mysql-query?

hi

problembeschreibung:

ich hab in ner gallerie-db images mit div. flags (activ/inactive etc etc)

nun hol ich mir ein image per select * from foo where id='$id' AND
status='1'

jetzt bräucht ich aber noch einen vor & zurück-button
da sich der user aber in einer sparte befindet, müsste der query aussehen
like:

select * from foo where "bevor" id and status='1' and bla='foo'

das ganze auch noch mit einem nachher...

wie sollt ich das lösen? oder hat wer da einige gute methoden bei hand?
