Hi there,

I have the following installation.
suse linux 6.2
apache 1.3.4
php3.0.7
mysql-3.22.19b

Linux, apache and php are running.
but i can't start the mysql server with

safe_mysqld &
mysql mysql

i receive the following error....

Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/var
mysql daemon ended

in the folder var aren't any databases.
but how can i start the mysql server and create a new user and a new
database
